Job Description

Snowdrop is a powerful game engine that enables Ubisoft content creators to set their creative minds free. Fast and flexible, Snowdrop gives developers innovative tools designed from the ground up for creating the unknown. Snowdrop provides the perfect canvas for game developers to paint the games of the future.

As Senior Lead at Ubisoft Annecy, you bring the technological roadmap of the snowdrop engine to life build building a strong collaboration with our Ubisoft Massive studio, located in Malmö, Sweden. Your proven experience in managing large technical teams, your deep knowledge in production technologies, your solid organization skills, allow you to drive a team of skilled people in an international context. You are recognized by your peers as a strong leader, a team player and having the ability to connect people. On a daily basis, you build and manage teams of talented programmers composed of rendering, engine and tools programmer, led by you or team leads directly under your responsibility.

Your daily life

  • Communicate and build solid partnerships with the studios participating in the project, understand the technical direction given to you and translate it into objectives for your team
  • Plan and coordinate the various technical activities of the project and the necessary resources according to the roadmap ahead
  • Analyze and document development needs and assess their feasibility in order to best serve the project
  • Solve complex problems, always working towards optimizing technical performance
  • Ensure the communication and visibility necessary for your team to enable it to work under the best conditions
  • Empower your team and manage its performance: definition of objectives, providing regular feedback, encouraging career progression, etc.
  • Ensure team goals are met on time, on budget and meet project needs
  • Monitor the evolution of the game architecture
  • Supervise resource planning and recruitment

Qualifications

What you bring

  • About 10 years of programming experience
  • Significant experience as a manager of a programming team
  • An experience that allows you to understand the technological challenges of the different programming teams and an ability to guide these teams in their technical choices
  • A mastery of the various programming languages usually used for the production of video games
  • A strong knowledge of game engine technologies (ex: Unity, Unreal, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and engaging leadership
  • An ability to synthesize and communicate information effectively to your internal contacts (team, other entities, management, etc.)
  • Good stress management and rigor in the organization of work
  • A deep understanding of video game production and the ability to understand the perspective of different trades
